SAMKING Solar Powerd Pumps for Circulation

Built for :

Circulation

A backyard pool provides summer fun but requires filtration
and chemicals to maintain water quality. Many owners run
grid-powered pumps overnight, increasing energy costs.
Samking

offer a solution. While the initial cost is higher,
solar pumps are durable, and provide long-term savings.

What’s the Force
Behind it:

The system reduces electricity costs and offers an eco-friendly solution for pool maintenance.

A solar-powered pool pump uses energy from solar panels to power the pump, circulating water through the filter without relying on the electric grid.

Offering a hybrid AC/DC power source, ensuring reliable water circulation in all weather conditions, with solar panels installable on the roof or in a sunny yard spot.

The system reduces electricity costs and offers an eco-friendly solution for pool maintenance.

00- How to Power Your
Pool Pump with Solar Energy

Switching to solar energy for your pool pump is an efficient and eco-friendly choice that saves on electricity costs while ensuring consistent performance.
By calculating your pump’s energy use, factoring in peak sun hours, and sizing the right solar system with panels, you can enjoy a sustainable solution.

How to Power Your Pool Pump with Solar Energy

01- Calculate the
Consumption

Convert your pump's horsepower (HP) to watts (1 HP = 745.7 watts). For a 2-HP pump running 6.5hr:

Energy Consumption=
2 HP × 745.7 × 6,5≈9.7 kWh

02- Determine Peak Sun Hours

Solar panels don’t operate at full capacity all day. Peak sun hours measure when sunlight intensity averages 1,000w per square meter.

(e.g., Los Angeles = 6 hours).

03- Size the
Solar System

Divide your pump’s daily energy use by your location’s peak sun hours:

Solar System Size =
9.7 kWh / 6 hours = 1.62 kW

04- Account for System Losses

Solar systems lose efficiency due to shading, weather, or orientation. Add a 14% buffer:

Adjusted System Size =
1.62 kW × 1.14 = 1.85 kW

05- Calculate Panels Needed

Divide the system size by the wattage of each panel
(e.g., 300 watts):

Number of panels =
1.85 kW / 0.3 kW ≈7 panels

06- Conclusion

You’ll need around 7 solar panels (300 watts each) to power your pool pump. This estimate varies based on factors like location, pump size, and system efficiency.
For exact sizing, consult a professional installer for tailored recommendations.

07- Select the
Right Solar Panels

The solar panel array should be 1.3 times the water pump's power, with voltage matching the pump's range. (For the 0.3-3HP SAMKING Solar Pump Family, we recommend connecting panels in series.)

E.g.,5 Panels Connected in Series:
(410W, Vmp: 38.5V, Voc: 42.6V)

F Power = 5 x 410W = 2200W

F Vmp = 5 x 38.5V = 192.5V

F Voc = 5 x 42.6V = 213V

Ensure*

F Power ≥ Pump Power x 1.3

F Voc < Pump's Max Voc

Brisbane, Australia

Our team installed a solar-powered pool system for a

Brisbane family, replacing their costly electric pump. Using

a Samking FCP750/1200W pump with four 410W solar panels, we re-laid pipes and scheduled daily water changes at noon,

completing the process in two hours.

The homeowner was absolutely delighted with the upgrade, highlighting how it brought unmatched convenience by eliminating the need for late-night water changes. This significant improvement not only saved time and effort but also enhanced their overall quality of life.
